Austria is considered to be one the top ski destinations in the entire world and we’re not surprised. The ski resorts are surrounded by unbelievably fantastic picturesque views and its towns are so charming and friendly.

The ski resorts are known for having the best lift systems in the world and for offering perfectly groomed slopes from the beginning to the end of the ski season.

What months can you ski in Austria?

The ski season in Austria starts at the end of November or beginning of December (depending on the weather) and can last until the end of March. Some of its ski resorts have glaciers and therefore can stay open during the summer season!

If you’re wondering when is the best time to go skiing in Austria, our ski and snowboard experts in Esquiades.com would suggest you to go skiing anytime between the middle of January to the end of February. March can also be a great time to go skiing as you can find great snow conditions and lovely weather if you enjoy soaking in some of the sun as well.

January and February are considered peak season in the ski and snowboard world so, if you’re looking for cheap ski holidays, skiing in March is also great for skiing on a budget ;)

As we’re totally flexible with the booking dates and durations, you’ll surely find ski holidays to Austria at a great price on Esquiades.com

What’s the best way to get to Austria?

- By Plane

As the austrian ski resorts that you can visit with Esquiades.com are all short drive from Innsbruck, we would recommend for you to fly directly there as most international airports offer direct flights to this airport which will allow you to maximise your time on the slopes.

- By Car

Driving to the ski resorts is also very popular and our self-driving ski deals offer you precisely this! So, pack your bags and start planning your travel itinerary! Austria has a well-developed road network with its neighbouring countries and all main border check points are open day and night.

What you need to know is that you must have a “vignette” toll sticker to drive on Austria’s motorways and expressways. This is available at the border as well as petrol stations..

- By Train

Some people reckon this is the best way to get to Austria as the train service is very efficient and you’ll get to take in the beautiful scenery during your travels. The trains are operated by OBB (Osterreichische Bundesbahnen), aka Austrian Federal Railways and you can check travel times, prices and purchase the tickets directly on their site.

As you know, our flexible ski deals will allow you to decide how you wish to get to your ski resort in Austria and plan your own travel itinerary to best suit you.
