Location of the Astún and Candanchú Ski Resort

The ski resorts of Astún and Candanchú are located in the valley of Aragón, in the mountains of the Aragonese Pyrenees. This special location allows skiers and riders to enjoy a good amount of snow throughout the winter season, so that skiers and riders can make the most of their weekend holiday at an unbeatable price.

How to get to the ski resorts of Astún and Candanchú

Both resorts are located at a distance of 2 km and have several buses that connect them, so you can forget about taking the car and enjoy them to the fullest. Thus, you will be able to ski in both resorts on the same day. The union of both results in 100 km skiable, with slopes suitable for visitors of any age and experience, especially blue, red and black, although there is also an area for beginner skiers with green slopes.

Astún and Candanchú ski resort slopes and lifts

The ski resort of Astún is at a higher altitude than Candanchú, as it is located between 1,700 and 2,300 m, approximately. In addition, it is very easy to find your way around, since all the slopes end at the same point, i.e., it has a funnel shape, which makes it ideal for families and athletes looking to improve their technique.

In Astún, you will find 50 km of marked trails divided into 61 slopes of all levels of difficulty: 5 green, 18 blue, 22 red and 6 black, with a total of 143 artificial snow cannons. To guarantee the mobility of its visitors, the Astún resort has 15 ski lifts: 7 chairlifts, 3 fixed grip chairlifts, 3 carpet lifts and 2 detachable chairlifts, which serve 20,000 people every hour.

The Candanchú ski resort, on the other hand, ranges from 1,550 to 2,400 metres above sea level. Its skiable area is larger than that of Astún and the most important ski areas are Pista Grande, Tobazo and Tuca Blanca. It also has an aprés-ski, called Barambán, located directly on the slopes, which is open every weekend during the winter season.

Why ski in Astún and Candanchú?

The resort has 50.5 km of skiable slopes distributed in 51 runs: 10 green, 12 blue, 16 red and 13 green. Given the high percentage of difficult slopes, as well as their characteristics, Candanchú is considered one of the best resorts for expert skiers in Spain. As for the access to the slopes, there are 24 ski lifts: 15 chairlifts, 6 fixed grip chairlifts and 3 carpet lifts, with capacity for about 25,000 customers per hour.
