Money-Back-Guarantee (for covered cancellation reasons)

VIAJES PARA TI, S.L.U. offers customers the option to purchase a Money-Back Guarantee, which covers the cancellation charges for booked services when you need to cancel for one of the covered reasons listed below.

The Money-Back Guarantee does not allow you to cancel for any reason. Your cancellation must meet the conditions set out below and you will need to provide supporting documentation.

Please note that the amount paid for the Money-Back Guarantee itself is non-refundable under all circumstances.

When do I need to cancel?

To benefit from the Money-Back Guarantee:

Your cancellation must be due to one of the covered reasons listed below.
The event causing the cancellation must have occurred after your booking was confirmed.
You must cancel before 12:00 p.m. (noon) on your scheduled hotel check-in date.
You must inform VIAJES PARA TI, S.L.U. of the reason for cancellation within 48 calendar hours of the event occurring.
You must provide documentation proving the reason for cancellation within 7 calendar days of formally cancelling your booking.

For cancellations due to illness, you must provide an official medical report issued by a registered medical practitioner confirming that you are unable to travel.

In cases of illness, the 48-hour notification period starts from the date stated on the official medical report as the start date of the illness, regardless of when the medical report itself was issued.

What reasons are covered?

1. Death, serious illness or serious bodily injury

Cancellation is covered in the event of the death, serious illness or serious bodily injury of:

the customer who made the booking;
a direct family member of the customer;
a travel companion;
a direct family member of a travel companion; or
the person responsible for looking after the booking customer's minor or disabled children at their usual place of residence while the customer is travelling.

For the purposes of this guarantee, direct family members are relatives up to the second degree of kinship by blood or marriage: parents, grandparents, spouses, siblings, children and grandchildren.

A serious illness or bodily injury is considered to be a condition requiring hospitalisation or bed rest within the seven days prior to the holiday, making it medically impossible to begin the trip on the scheduled date.

2. Legal obligations during your holiday

Cancellation is covered if you are legally required to attend as a party, witness or juror in legal proceedings, or as a member of an electoral board in a state, regional or municipal election, and this obligation coincides with your holiday dates.

3. Official examinations

Cancellation is covered if you are required to sit an examination relating to official civil service or public competitive examinations during your holiday dates, provided the examination was scheduled after the booking was made.

This coverage applies whether you are taking the examination yourself or are required to participate as a member of the examination board.

4. Serious damage to your primary residence or business premises

Cancellation is covered if your urgent presence is required during your holiday dates due to serious damage caused by fire, explosion, robbery or force majeure affecting:

your main residence; or
your professional premises, if you are self-employed or manage a business.

5. Surgical intervention

Cancellation is covered when a surgical procedure is scheduled during the dates of your trip for:

you;
one of your travel companions; or
a direct family member up to the second degree of kinship by blood or marriage.

This also includes medical tests that must be carried out before the surgical procedure during the dates of the booked trip, as well as organ transplantation as either a recipient or donor.

6. Emergency medical tests

Cancellation is covered when emergency medical tests are required by the public health system for:

you;
one of your travel companions; or
an immediate family member up to the first or second degree.

The tests must be justified by the seriousness of the situation, coincide with the holiday dates and make it impossible for you to travel.

7. Serious pregnancy complications

Cancellation is covered in the event of serious pregnancy-related complications affecting:

you;
your spouse;
your domestic partner; or
your cohabiting partner.

The complication must have occurred after the booking was made and, following medical advice, require rest or hospitalisation that makes travel impossible.

The circumstances must be medically justified, occur during the holiday dates and represent a serious risk to the progression of the pregnancy.

8. Urgent call to duty

Cancellation is covered if, after making your booking, you receive an urgent call to join the:

police;
armed forces; or
fire service,

provided that the notification was received after the booking was made and prevents the holiday from taking place as scheduled.

What documentation do I need?

Any reason used to request coverage under the Money-Back Guarantee must be properly documented.

You must provide VIAJES PARA TI, S.L.U.'s Customer Service Department with the relevant supporting documentation within 7 calendar days of formally cancelling your booking.

For illness-related cancellations, an official medical report issued by a registered medical practitioner confirming that you are unable to travel is required.

What happens if I transfer the holiday to someone else?

If, as a result of one of the covered reasons above, you decide to transfer the holiday to another person instead of cancelling it, the Money-Back Guarantee will cover any additional fees arising from the change of booking holder.

What happens if only some travellers cancel?

The Money-Back Guarantee can also apply to a partial cancellation or reduction in the number of travellers, subject to the applicable conditions.

After the cancellation, at least two travellers must remain on the booking for the trip to continue.

If only one traveller remains, the entire booking will be cancelled.

When the number of travellers is reduced, VIAJES PARA TI, S.L.U. reserves the right to change the room allocation, while always maintaining the same accommodation category.

Does the Money-Back Guarantee cover booking modifications?

No. The Money-Back Guarantee applies strictly to cancellations and does not cover modifications to an existing booking.

The exception is the change of booking holder described above when the holiday is transferred to another person as a result of one of the covered circumstances.
