Information about Port Ainé

The Port Ainé ski resort is located in the splendid setting of the Pallars Sobirà region, in the area of influence of the municipality of Rial. Presided over by the Pic de l'Orri and between heights of 1,650 and 2,440 metres, its 25 slopes facing north guarantee a favorable microclimate and excellent conditions for skiing, especially when the seasons are fairly snowy.

 

Why go skiing in Port Ainé?

 

The strategic location of the ski lifts at the Port Ainé resort allows easy and quick access to the entire skiable area ( 32 kilometres ), highlighting the JET-CIM 6-people detachable chairlift, starting at 2,000 m and arriving at the highest point of the resort, 2,440 meters, from where most of its slopes depart.

 

Unlike other resorts, Port Ainé allows non-expert skiers to climb to the top of the resort and access the track   Bellavista , over three kilometers and suitable for beginners. In fact, very few resorts can boast of having eight kilometers of skiable areas for beginners , Bellavista goes around the entire perimeter of the resort and allows all types of skiers to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, which stands out for its its wonderful panoramic views of the Catalan Pyrenees .

What services does Port Ainé offer directly on the slopes?

 

Port Ainé is also recognized for its leading Snowpark in the Pyrenees, since for many years it has been at the forefront of new freestyle trends. The space has a ski lift, several modules and lines for the initiation, evolution and improvement of the technique of the practitioners.

 

The resort is a comprehensive centre for everything you need for a good day of skiing: it has a shop selling basic necessities, a ski equipment rental centre, a school where you can practice and learn skiing, a terrace-solarium with cafeteria and a snow activities centre, which has circuits for snowmobiling and dog sledding. It is evident, therefore, its focus on the family audience and skiers or snowboarders who are taking their first steps in winter sports.

What activities can be practiced in Port Ainé?

 

El Pallars Sobirà is one of the regions where more adventure sports are practiced, such as rafting , quad circuits, archery, zip line, climbing wall... being an ideal meeting point for families, but also for lovers of adrenaline and strong emotions. At the same time, you will be able to contemplate the Pyrenean landscape that surrounds the resort, in total harmony with nature. The Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes , Estany de Sant Maurici , herds of horses, green meadows where cows and sheep graze, etc. All in all, it is a quiet destination, far from mass tourism , in an incomparable setting in Catalonia. In addition, the region has an enviable microclimate , so much so that many consider that the best snow is found in the Port Ainé resort.

 

How to get to Port Ainé?

 

By road , you can access the Port Ainé resort from Barcelona, La Seu d'Urgell, Lleida, Tarragona, Temple and Toulouse.. If you want to go by public transport, you can get to the ski slopes from Lleida by bus, since the resort has a ski-bus service. The price is €36 from Lleida and the Ski Pass is already included.

 

From Barcelona there are 250 kilometers and it takes about three and a half hours; from Gerona almost 4 hours passing through the Cadí tunnel (for a fee); from Tarragona little more than three hours and they are 220 kilometers away. The slopes are only 20 kilometers from the town of Sort (half an hour), so it is a good place to stop for breakfast or a coffee before starting a great day of skiing.

 

On the other hand, if you want to access Port Ainé resort by train , the closest resort is FGC - La Pobla de Segur, 45 kilometers away. And if you came by plane , the closest airport is Lleida-Alguaire (140km) or Barcelona El Prat (245km).
