Thanks to the recent -although weak- snowfalls, accompanied by low temperatures, the slopes have been put to the test and with the help of the snow system and thanks to the great work of the field teams, the three Andorran ski resorts have been increasing their skiable areas as the bridge progressed, reaching more than 100 kilometres in Grandvalira, 60% of the slopes open in Pal - Arinsal, and 80% of slopes open in Ordino - Arcalís.

Between December 3 and 11, more than 104,000 skiers enjoyed quality snow at the three Grandvalira Resorts ski resorts and completed the days with the resorts' activities and services, which have also been very well received by the public.

Grandvalira Resorts is optimistic about the two weeks of Christmas and Epiphany

The Spanish bank holidays this year 2022 have encompassed two weekends, which has meant that skiers arrived in stages at the different snow and ski destinations in Andorra and there were no large crowds.

During the second part of the bridge, the number of visitors has been more numerous, peaking on Saturday the 10th, with an influx of 16,720 skiers between all seasons. The long duration of the holiday days has also allowed customers to take advantage of the new ski pass, which gives the option of skiing in the three resorts of Andorra.

Good forecasts for Christmas

Grandvalira Resorts faces the coming weeks with optimism, in which more snowfall is expected, and low temperatures are expected to continue, allowing for the production of farm snow. A Christmas period is predicted with good conditions for slopes, with multiple musical and family proposals scheduled and with the forecast of inaugurating one of the new star activities of Grandvalira, Snowtubbing by Dots del Pas de la Casa, the longest tubbing slope in Europe.

L'Abarset starts the season with a bang

L'Abarset's music program was inaugurated by the Italian DJ Marco Faraone on Saturday the 3rd, kicking off an ambitious season in which great DJs from the international electronic music scene will perform. The popular Tarter entertainment venue has reopened with a renewed restaurant menu and with a program in which every day you can dance to the sound of different rhythms, from House or Indie to eighties music.

During the week, the Madrid sisters LunnasDJ made the attendees vibrate with their electronic sound that is so successful on Ibiza nights. The high point came last Friday the 9th with the Belgian 2ManyDJs who, together with the Brunch –In The Snow festival, played their alternative electro-rock proposal in an evening that filled L'Abarset to overflowing. The party on Saturday the 10th was also very successful with the inauguration of the new space Belvedere Shot Bar, and DJ Quartero and Hector Couto.

Likewise, the restaurants of all seasons have launched the season with a very good reception. Among them, the three novelties of the season in Arinsal stand out: the bistro café Terroir, the Niu (the old Obelix) and the Piccolo. In Ordino Arcalís, the La Coma Restaurant, which has been completely renovated, and in Grandvalira, restaurants such as the Refugi del Llac dels Pessons, the Piolet Brasserie, the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon or the In The Snow Veuve Clicquot have started season through the front door.

Ski resorts have been able to offer multiple activities that go beyond alpine skiing from day one . The circuits for ski mountaineering and snowshoeing have also been able to open, offering the service of guided excursions.

In Ordino Arcalís they have been able to carry out snowmobile outings , led by Roc Roi, as well as in Grandvalira, where they have also been able to enjoy the activity of mushing, both in Grau Roig and in El Tarter. In Pal Arinsal, buggie excursions , the Big Airbag, tubbing, the toboggan run or helicopter flights have been activated.
