The operation that has mounted the Espot ski resort has been approved by most skiers. As we told you in previous news, the solution that the resort has contributed to the breakdown of the chair lift has been 5 pisapist machines with passenger cabins .
We tell you how it works! Early in the day, 8:30 a.m. , two machines are already waiting to load skiers, while the other three wait for their turn to reach the boarding area. In total there is capacity for about 100 people . In the first hour the waiting time is very short but as the morning progresses more people arrive.
This Saturday, 1,200 people have been transported!
It is worth noting the coordination of the resort staff, a worker controls the passes and dials them to warn that until 13h they will not be able to use the machine again to climb (but to lower). Then, around 13h the Camí del Llop track opens for those who want to use it, most to return to their cars.
Likewise, several workers and including the Director of Ski Pallars (the company that manages Espot and Port Ainé) help users to climb the stairs of the machine while other employees take the skis and deposit them in a metal box in front of the pisapistas.

For many, the most exciting moment is when the rider reaches the stretch of track with more unevenness. People who are riding show their surprise when they see that the steep slope causes them to hold on to avoid falling over their traveling companion in front. There are those who will buy it with a roller coaster ! Finally, the machine leaves the passengers at the foot of the debutant tape.
This is the question asked by both skiers and merchants and entrepreneurs in the valley. Sources of the City Council of Espot report that the chairlift has been reviewed even by the same REAC technicians (the company that mounted with its brand, the ski lift at the time), but that from the Generalitat at the moment they do not give permission to put it in march again .
From now on there is speculation between mounting a new chair lift for the coming season that can be four seats, and even six. The cost would be around 6 million euros since the old ski lift can not take advantage of the bollards since many of them according to a previous study, would be higher than the current ones.
In any case there is not much room to decide if a deep revision to the current chairlift is undertaken or a new one is commissioned, since the time needed to officially place the order, manufacture it, bring it to Espot and assemble it, is between seven to nine months, so in April at most you should know something .
