Sierra Nevada Ski Resort is located in the south of Spain and is known for being the most snow-sure ski resort in Spain. It is the southernmost ski resort in Europe and the highest on the peninsula, a stone's throw from one of the Andalusian capitals and the always stimulating Costa del Sol . But, above all, it is a first-rate destination for ski lovers.
Among other things, the Sierra Nevada ski resort has Mulhacén, a 3,718-meter peak that stands as the highest in the Iberian Peninsula and the second in Spain, after Mount Teide. But one of the great attractions of the destination is its proximity to the coast , since In an hour you can go from descending on slopes to walking along the shores of the Mediterranean.
Also, the location is not the only thing that makes Sierra Nevada different.. The Granada resort, in addition to having a total of 105 skiable kilometers and 124 ski slopes (20 green, 42 blue, 55 red and 7 black), is open for many months, usually from November to May, thanks to a climate of contrasts that allows you to enjoy mild temperatures, long-lasting snow and many hours of sunshine a year. In addition, its mountainous complex, with important botanical values and high mountain lagoons, was declared a national park and biosphere reserve by UNESCO. As you can imagine, its landscapes are fascinating.
This Spanish Ski Resort is known for being one of the ski resorts in Europe to be open the longest. Its ski season usually runs from late November until early May. The best time to go skiing in Sierra Nevada is usually in March and April as it's the time of the year where you have optimal snow conditions and great weather. This time of the year is also much less crowded which means there's more availability and is also a great time to book a cheap ski holiday with friends and family.
We recommend you to check the Sierra Nevada Webcams before heading to our ski deals where you will also find an updated snow report as well as customer reviews. Hospitality, comfort, quality ... In Sierra Nevada there are accommodations of all kinds that add charm to the facilities and offer a pleasant stay to all types of public. At the same time, the ski resort has numerous restaurants with a very diverse gastronomy , from the municipality's own, to the international and fast. We also recommend going through the Montebajo Sports Club, a centre with areas for relaxation and body care.
To all this, you can save some time to visit Granada and stroll through the streets of Albaicín and Sacromonte, or marvel at the architectural jewel that is the Alhambra.
On Esquiades.com you will find a great selection of ski hotels, all of which are a short walk to the slopes. Some of them are also close to a ski lift that you can take on your way to the slopes ;) Check out our sierra nevada ski deals which include breakfast or half board and the ski pass at an excellent price.
If you prefer staying in self-catered apartments, we also have plenty of options for you that are also fairly close to the ski slopes.
As you may already know, on Esquiades.com we do not include flights in our ski holidays so, if you need to cath a flight, we recommend you to fly into Granada, which is a 40-minute drive to the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort or, you can also fly into Malaga, which is about 2 hours from the resort.
