The Ötztal valley in the Austrian Alps contains six ski resorts in its domain: Sölden, Obergurgl, Vent, Gries, Niederthai and Hochoetz-Kühtai. Of these, Sölden and Obergurgl are among the most renowned alpine resorts. In addition, the valley contains two glacier ski areas.

Why should you ski in Ötztal?

You can choose from its large number of resorts, where each one has particularities that suit different audiences and you can find among all of them the ideal one for everyone, but the best option is to try to enjoy them all to live an unforgettable experience.

Below we explain a little about the different seasons of Ötztal:

Obergurgl-Hochgurgl: Known as the Diamond of the Alps. It contains 112 skiable kilometers with 24 gondolas in a location in the high alps, which ensures a very high quality of snow for skiing. The Topexpress cable car connection between Obergurgl and Hochgurgl stands out.

Sölden: It is one of the best known resorts worldwide. It has 31 lifts that will take you up to 3,340 meters and 114 skiable kilometers. Here you can find the two glacier ski areas and important events of interest about winter sports.

Hochoetz-Kühtai: This resort represents the entrance to the Ötztal valley, contains 88 skiable kilometers and its 25 lifts take you up to more than 2,000 meters. It is known as a paradise for families and children: the ski school, the children's activity course, the WIDI Kids Club, an indoor kindergarten and a Snow Village offer unlimited fun for children.

Vent: This is a small, family resort, for those looking for a more authentic experience away from overcrowding. It has 15 skiable kilometers and 4 lifts and is surrounded by peaks over 3,000 meters high.

Gries: Another small resort that is ideal for beginners. It has a ski lift that includes practice slopes, ensuring a good environment for children.

Niederthai: Also ideal for children. It has 3 chairlifts and 4 kilometers of slopes for beginners. Ski school and equipment rental available.

What activities can be practiced in Ötztal?
