This set of Ski Resorts is known by the name of Espace Killy, the name comes from the legendary skier Jean-Claude Killy who won 3 gold medals at the Grenoble 68 Winter Olympic Games, 6 gold medals at the Skiing World Championships and 15 World Cup victories.
"The most beautiful space in the world". That is the resort's slogan and, although it doesn't look like the best name, the Espace Killy complex can stand out and be proud of the advantages that the tracks have. With 10.000 hectares of surface (5 times the surface of the biggest Spanish Resorts), 300 skiable kilometres, 1,906 km change in altitude and 2 glaciers located at more than 3,000 metres of altitude.
Why ski in Espace Killy?
These two ski resorts of the French Alps are considered to be the best resorts for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. If you are a rookie, you are going to be get lucky, as you can catch numerous free lifts inside the domain, as well as a large area of green tracks. Exactly 21 green tracks located in the upper area of the domain at more than 2,400 metres of altitude, a difference that makes it stand out among other Ski Resorts.
In case you are an experienced skier the Tignes and Val d'Isère resorts offer 67 blue tracks, 43 red tracks and 24 black tracks. In addition, you will be able to enjoy the many options apart from the tracks that are offered by the 10,000 skiable hectares. You can even practisee heli-skiing, a sport that consists in climbing in a helicopter, looking for a pass to land and going down the virgin slopes.
On the other hand, this winter resort has 800 snow cannons, 42 chairlifts, 9 cable cars and 2 gondolas. There is no excuse to stay without a ski week at the French Alps. In addition, Tignes and Val d'Isère offers a unique ski or snow experience with World Cup tracks and hosts competitions such as Winter X Games Europe, an event for those who love freestyle skiing.
To end this perfect day of skiing, Tignes and Val d'Isère offers an amazing après-ski. The nightlife in Tignes has a young and international public with live music venues and several nightclubs. El acceso al Glaciar de la Grande Motte ha estado cerrado toda la semana. La nieve en las cotas bajas era de mala calidad (pero es normal a estas alturas del año)

Es un dominio impresionante con las mejores instalaciones que visto asta la fecha, y en la que puedes esquiar con mucha fluidez sin esperar nada en los remontes. En general la mejor estacion de esqui en mi opinión

Mucha nieve y siempre polvo, estupendo.
Cierre de los remontes para llegar a Tignes 1800 muy pronto, no deja tiempo de maniobra.

Que en Val claret no hay ni un solo supermercado.

La qualitat de la neu era excel.lent.
Poques pistes i remuntadors oberts tenint en compte la gran quantitat de neu. Poca preparació de l’estació.
Els bars de les pistes no tenien menjar i eren caríssims.
The quality of the snow was excellent.

Simplemente impresionante, tenía half pipe, Border Cross, zona de snow park.... Además de super modernas instalaciones, huevos, trenes subterráneos y dos glaciares...algo más que pedir?..ah sí sol, mucho sol !!!

- Variedad y calidad de las pistas de esquí.
- Buena señalización de las pistas.
- Toneladas de nieve, no te la acabas.
- Remontes muy nuevos y casi todos desembragables
- Empalmes de algunas pistas se tenía que remar demasiado (se puede mejorar facilmente con pequeñas cintas motorizadas)
- Para bajar a Val d'Isere desde Tignes, solo hay una pista negra muy dificil y larga, o una roja que estaba cerrada sin razón aparente (Santos). Siendo una conexión muy importante y fundamental, se tendría que trabajar en una pista azul.

La nieve era fabulosa y no habían muchas colas
Algunas conexiones entre remontes no tienen pendiente y se hacen pesadas, es una pena que no haya un Apre Ski del nivel del que hay en Val d´Isere en la zona de Tignes, ya que el transporte entre Val d´isere y tignes es deficiente y se hace complicada la vuelta.

La variedad y cantidad de fuera pistas. Tienen posibilidad de abrir muchísimos más kilómetros de pistas pero han preferido dejar gran cantidad de terreno libre para esquiar en nieve sin pisar.
Los enlaces entre valles son muy muy escasos. El glaciar de Tignes estaba cerrado por reparaciones en el teleférico.

Es una de las mejores estaciones o complejos de toda Europa. Posee grandes medios remontes, autobuses, instalaciones, personal, formadores, señalizaciones, etc.
Por poner un pero, decir que al ser o coincidir con la semana santa estaba Val Claret a tope. Y en ciertas pistas en las zonas de se acumulaba mucha gente

Junto con st Anton Am alberg, la mejor estación en la que he esquiado. Instalaciones sobresalientes, fiesta en La Foille Douce insuperable y si a eso le sumas 4 días de sol sol sol y nada de viento pues un cocktail perfecto.
La conexión entre Tignes y Val d'isere solo era posible en un punto. Por lo demás todo perfecto.

En general es muy recomendable
El pueblo es un poco apagado después de la jornada de esquí.
La conexión entre las dos valles sólo la pudimos hacer con el telehuevo, ya que había una competición internacional.
