In 2018, a new accommodation concept for the N'PY resorts was inaugurated in Piau Engaly: the Skylodge by Piau Engaly. The goal was to bring snow closer to a younger type of customer who needs cheaper prices to go skiing or snowboarding.

Since then, the Skylodge in Piau-Engaly has become a testing laboratory. Today we find things that were not intended at first, with changes to give more comfort and safety, which will be applied to other Skylodge. N'PY wants to implement this to other ski resorts of the group.

And as a result of this dynamisation of changes, we have approached the general manager of N'PY to ask for any updates or news for this winter. And we can see that indeed, they have had to adapt to new needs, such as gastronomy, the activities to offer, or even facilities for clients.

Pyrenees Craft Beer Fair

It will be the first fest of its kind, which will be held on December 17 and 18 with companies that make craft beer exclusively on both sides of the Pyrenees. Its objective is to publicize and reinforce these brands, which usually do not have promotion and advertising mechanisms to reach the public, helping their development and establishing a direct link with consumers.

According to the Skylodge management:

"We are going to limit the presence of expositors. Brasseries from Andorra, Catalonia, Aragon, the French Basque Country and the department of Haute-Pyrénées have confirmed their attendance. In addition to accompanying this fest with pinchos at reduced prices, there will be presence of cheeses and sausages from the region and a contest to choose the best beer of the contest. We are going to offer a ski pass that includes the tasting of 20 beers or pinchos. A concert will serve as the culmination of this event. Undoubtedly an opportunity to spend a great weekend in Piau Engaly ”.

Improvement of the gastronomic proposal on the terrace

The free lunch buffet, specialized in cheeses, cold meat cuts, meats, desserts...

As indicated by the Skylodge of Piau Engaly, they want to significantly differentiate the dinner from the midday one, since there are more and more guests staying who ask for full board,

"23% of customers who visit the restaurant for dinner are apartment owners or people staying in other establishments, who are also regulars on our terrace."

So they have to respond to this demand. In addition, the après ski will be reinforced with live music.

On the other hand, they have created direct access to the terrace from the Skylodge Reception, so it will not be necessary to go outside to access it, as well as allowing the disabled to enjoy it.

Enhacing the activities

After almost four years since the Piau Engaly Skylodge was inaugurated, another demand is more variety of activities, especially on weekends . Therefore, from this winter they will try to offer more concerts and activities on those demanded days.

"One of our goals is for everyone to feel comfortable and find their space, whether they are staying at the Skylodge or not. That is why N'PY is working on this program in detail".

New left-luggage room

In general, the acceptance of the Skylodge of Piau-Engaly has been very good. Perhaps one of the points to improve after listening to customers is the slogan. That is why this summer they have been working on preparing a space for guests to store their suitcases safely, especially aimed at all those who leave on Sunday, but want to ski in the morning.

The Skylodge by Piau Engaly goes much further offering guests to shower before heading back home. This same space was used in the past to safely store bicycles.

Guide to discover the resort

It is a new free service for clients (as long as they are not part of groups) staying at the Skylodge in Piau Engaly. The employees will guide you through the Piau ski area if you wish to do so.

Information point

The Skylodge has reached an agreement with a leisure company in the Valle d'Aure so those who do not ski can practice other modalities, such as snowshoeing, snow walking, initiation to mountain skiing, snowmobiling and other activities that can be done in Piau or its surroundings.

“The Skylodge is for many a meeting place, so this information point will serve all those who want to know everything that can be done in the area. You have to remember that we are open 24 hours a day ”.
