The few precipitations, together with mild temperatures for a month of November, have forced to work hard to Sierra Nevada, which has already activated all the machinery for opening. The resort had planned to open the season next Saturday, November 25, and finally it will be like that.
The technicians of the Department of Mountain have verified an improvement in the snow conditions, thanks to the fact that the decrease of temperatures has allowed to reactivate the production of snow in the last days. For this reason, the Granada resort will open the 2017/18 season on Saturday, November 25 , as planned in the official season calendar.
The system of snow produced has made possible that the pisapistas machines have conditioned tracks in the area of Beginners, particularly in the surroundings of the chair lift Emile Allais and carpets of initiation. Snow production will remain active as long as the temperature allows it. During the day today, the 'canyons' work in Beginners and in the environment of the Veleta and Veleta II chairlifts.
The conditions of the opening (tracks, skiable kilometers, lifts and complementary services) will be known in the next hours.
