Music and plenty of snow for spring skiing in Sierra Nevada

The wettest month of March in many years is leaving a lot of snow in our mountains... but little sunshine. But one day or another it will have to end. There are those who glimpse the first rays for next week, but while that is confirmed, in Sierra Nevada pull meteorological logic, and have prepared a whole program of concerts and music for a spring that, so far, has begun with nothing less than three metres of thickness on the slopes.

Sierra Nevada has started today, Friday, March 21, the spring season with the sale of a special ski pass, a wide cultural and sports agenda, and the best snow conditions of the 24/25 ski season, as there are currently more than three metres of snow in a good part of the ski area. The forecast is that this weekend up to 95 skiable kilometres can be opened.

The special ski pass has been baptized as SnowSpring, is valid for two free days and costs 70 euros. It can be used from April 1 until the end of the current season. It is a product with limited units, so only one ski pass per user will be sold.

SnowSpring Program

The SnowSring, which goes on sale this March 21, is joined by an extensive musical and sports program to make the last third of the season more fun.Thus, along with classic events of the spring calendar such as the Sun and Snow festival or the Ultra Sierra Nevada, this year there will be a Spring Party ( Saturday, March 22) in the Plaza de Andalucía, organized by the Sierra Nevada Business Association.

The Spanish Absolute Alpine Skiing Championship, with the RFEDI World Cup and European Cup racers, will be the big competition in April in Sierra Nevada, along with a dozen regional races of alpine skiing, ski mountaineering, snowboarding, and freestyle.

All in all, the musical sessions with free admission in Borreguiles with DJ's, instrumentalists and cover bands make up the cornerstone of the program, along with the involvement of the resort's sponsors, who are also committed to the summer program.

Snow conditions are otherwise exceptional. With more than 3 metres of snow, two of which fell in the last two weeks, it is facing one of the most promising spring seasons in recent history. The altitude and orientation of the Sierra Nevada slopes have made the spring snow of the Granada resort a reference in winter sports, and this year the accumulations of snowpack promise a great month of April.
