The Grandvalira ski resort offers a wide range of snow and activities for all audiences during the Christmas holidays. Skiers will be able to enjoy 5 of the 6 sectors linked by the track, 130 km of skiers and more than 80% of the ski lifts in operation. Thanks to the snowfall of the last days and the work of the team on the ground they have allowed to improve the snow conditions, making Grandvalira the resort with the largest offer of ski kilometres in southern Europe.

Also, the 5 open sectors will have all the services offered by the Ski and Snowboard Schools. Freestyle lovers will be able to find the perfect complement to the El Dominio de la Nieve service offering, with all its partially open snowparks and the Freestyle Center operating with the Freestyle Club and the Campus available for different ages. Sunrise Park Xavi by Henry Harlaut , located in the Grau Roig sector, will offer four module lines for all levels. The Snowpark of El Tarter makes available to its customers four hills on top of the park and a line of drawers and railings of initiation level. Grandvalira completes its snowparks offer with the Sunset Park Peretol , open from this Saturday, December 22 in the afternoon.

A family Christmas

To live the family parties, Grandvalira receives one more year the visit of Santa Claus in the different sectors of the resort. Among the activities, it is also worth mentioning the traditional torch descent from the Pla d'Espiolets to the town of Soldeu, which will take place on December 31 , the descent of small lights in the Soldeu sector , on January 3, in the that children take center stage and the torch descent and arrival of the Magi to the Pas de la Casa sector on January 5.

As every year, families can also enjoy adventure activities. The resort has two centers where these activities are concentrated. This is the Grandvalira Mountain Park (Grau Roig) and the Grandvalira Outdoor Center (El Tarter), where visitors can enjoy fun alternatives such as dog sled rides, snowmobile and snowshoe excursions, among other alternative activities to ski.

A gastronomic Christmas

This Christmas, Grandvalira customers can choose from a wide range of restaurants distributed by the different open sectors of the domain. You can choose from an outdoor terrace with panoramic views of the Andorran Pyrenees , to the heat of a fireplace on a traditional board. In addition, for those who want to celebrate a High Year, the 3 Estanys restaurant in the Grau Roig sector welcomes 2019 with a succulent dinner and a party until late at night.

On December 21 and 22 , Grandvalira inaugurates L'Après-Amélie , a new terrace located in the recently renovated Encamp Base area of Funicamp. Djs Ángel de Andrés and Nyl On will kick off an après-skis season that will unite gastronomy and music creating a select and unique atmosphere. In addition, the afternoons will be enlivened with cocktails made by the best cocktail master of Lío, the famous club cabaret restaurant in Ibiza. L'Après-Amélie will offer parties until January 5 and, as of this date and with the exception of special parties, the terrace provides for après-skis programming every Wednesday and Saturday.

Champagne is, one more Christmas, the protagonist in Grandvalira. The exceptional Clicquot Snow Club Grandvalira on the terrace of Gall de Bosc, in the Soldeu sector, offers a space with a select atmosphere where the most demanding palates will delight in one of the most acclaimed premium champagne brands, the Veuve Clicquot champagne. The French house is also present in L'Abarset, in the El Tarter sector, with the VIP space with capacity for 30 people and accessible by reservation. On the other hand, during these holidays customers can also taste the Rimarts cava bottles that have spent a year, from October 2017 to October 2018, under the icy waters of Lake Pessons de Grau Roig. This exclusive product can be tested in the à la carte service restaurants of Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig, such as the Refugi del Llac de Pessons and El Racó de Solanelles.

Après-skis in L'Abarset

Once again, L'Abarset becomes the epicenter of Christmas après-ski with a special program that will put El Tarter on the music scene of the best parties with the visits of renowned DJs between December 22 and January 5 .

Free bus service

Until December 23 and to facilitate access to the Snow Domain, the free shuttle bus service between the Canillo and El Tarter sectors is maintained for skiers presenting the day or season ski pass. The service will be activated from 9 am and will have a half-hour pass frequency and stop in all sectors of Grandvalira except in the Pas de la Casa sector. The last departure will be at 5:30 p.m. from El Tarter .

The Christmas agenda

The Snow Domain presents one of the broadest Christmas activity agendas in the Pyrenees specially designed for everyone to enjoy their stay at the resort.

December 22nd 4th Solidarity Night Cronoescalada l'Àliga. Skimo test scoring for the Andorra Mountain Ski Cup. Cat: Senior; Children and Popular.

December 24 Visit of Santa Claus in the Ski and Snowboard School of the Soldeu, El Tarter, Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig and Encamp sectors.

December 29 - 7 pm Mountain and adventure cinema, screening of the film No Man 's Land - Antarctic Expedition in the auditorium of the Palau de Gel de Canillo.

December 31st 6th Dynafit / Grandvalira 3 Front Trophy in Grau Roig. Scoring test for the Andorra Cup (FAM) for mountain skiing.

December 31 - 18.30 Torch descent from the Pla d'Espiolets (Soldeu) to the town of Soldeu.
