Andorra, the country of the Pyrenees, is a small place located between Spain and France surrounded by mountains. Other interesting facts about Andorra is that the highest point nearly reaches 3000 metres above sea level, it is the summit of a mountain called ‘Pic del Comapedrosa’ and has an altitude of 2946 metres. The official currency is the Euro, even though they are not a member of the EU, and is a great condition for European travellers.

Now, we are going to get to some more important issues, skiing and snowboarding down the snowy slopes, this is what we really like doing. In Andorra, there are 2 main ski domains, the biggest is Grandvalira which has more than 210 skiable kilometres, and Vallnord which is divided into two sectors, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalis.

So, during the winter season there are some key destinations inside the country that are a must.

Ordino Arcalis has a great (the best in my opinion) freeride zone and when the snow is in good conditions and the sun is bright, believe me, you will not want to leave this small area inside the resort.

Arinsal is a good choice if you want to learn how to ski (so great if you are skiing with children or you are a first timer), the vast majority of the slopes are quite easy and there are some ski schools. After your long day of falling down or descending like a rocket, if you are an advanced skier or snowboarder or a beginner, you can always enjoy all the restaurants and bars in this small town.

Soldeu has a wide offer of 3, 4 and 5 star hotels and apartments right next to the Grandvalira Ski Resort access. From there, you can easily connect to other sectors like El Tarter. This small town and resort in Andorra also offers great services in order to enjoy a nice time after skiing.

Pas de la Casa borders with France and the good thing about this sector, is that there are a lot of hotels and apartments that are right next to the access, so you can get out with your skiing boots already on.

Andorra la Vella is the capital of this small but great country. Here there is a great variety of hotels to choose from all near to restaurants, shops and shopping centres.
