Baqueira Beret novelties for the 2022/23 season

The Baqueira Beret resort will start the 2022/23 season with a new lift, new and improved slopes, updated services and international competitions, among others.

The most notorious novelties of the Val d'Aran and Valls d'Àneu resorts can be found, one more winter, in the Beret ski area, with the new TSD Dossau ski lift giving access to the new slopes and a total ski area of 170km .

New TSD Dossau

The famous Dossau chair is modernized, becoming a detachable 6-people chairlift that will take skiers to the same point of arrival, along a new route and to new slopes.

In figures, the new chairlift will be able to transport 2,400 skiers per hour, covering a difference in altitude of 627 m between the starting point of 1,881 m and the arrival point of 2,508 m, along a route of 2,301 m.

The famous Dossau chairlift will be upgraded to a 6-seater chairlift.

New slopes: Montgarri, Passada d'Auba and Tortuga 2

The remodeling of the Dossau chairlift has led to the creation of new slopes such as Montgarri (red) and Passada d'Auba (blue), the latter in the Colhet de Marimanha area.

It is in that same part of Dossau that restructuring of the slopes has also been carried out, improving the experience of skiers and snowboarders.

The third new slope is located in the Baqueira area: Tortuga 2, the old Lenhadors slope, has been remodeled to make it easier for intermediate level skiers to go down.

Baqueira Beret continues to increase its fleet of snow groomers

Improvements in innovation and new snow grooming machines

Baqueira Beret continues to modernize its snow grooming park, responsible for leaving the slopes impeccable and treaded, incorporating three machines (1 with Winch and 2 conventional PB600), thus adding a total of 18 snow grooming machines active during the months of operation.

There have also been extensions to the artificial snow network, with 2.4 km of pipe, a total of 23 snow machines (thus doubling the snow production in the upper part of the Dossau slope), 20 high pressure and 3 low pressure, in addition to expand the pumping capacity.

In the new area of Dossau, a new Booster has been built to produce snow throughout the ski area, highlighting the upper part of the Colhet de Marimanha and the lower part of the Ticolet piste. In this way, the resort reaches 58% of the total snow-covered skiable area -94% of Baqueira, 51% of Beret and 35% Bonaigua-.

Improvements in gastronomy aim to speed up ordering and make it more convenient for customers.

Digitization and comfort in restaurants on slopes

The restaurant points are updated year after year, improving the gastronomic offers and expanding the variety of products.

Last year, the option of placing online orders in specific establishments was launched, and this year it will be found in more parks, bars and restaurants, thus speeding up customer orders.

This season, new large heated parasols will also be released to enjoy the terraces even on the coldest days.

Refurbishment of the Hotel Montarto

In 1972, the first hotel located directly on the slopes was inaugurated: the Hotel Montarto, the mythical Hotel in Baqueira Beret. 50 years and many winter and summer seasons have passed since then.

The hotel has been renovated recently to offer its customers greater comfort, without giving up its character as a mountain hotel that it has maintained over the years. Its excellent location makes it one of the most desired hotels in Baqueira Beret, as it is located directly on the slopes and allows its customers to easily access the resort entrance.

Once again this year, Baqueira Beret will once again host numerous national and international events.

National and international events

After the great success achieved last season, Baqueira Beret will receive the Free ride World Tour 2023 for the second consecutive year at the first stop on the circuit. In this, the best riders in the world will meet again at the Val d'Aran and Valls d'Àneu Station in the most prestigious free ride world event in the world; an unmissable event not only for lovers of strong emotions, but for all fans of winter sports.

Alpine competitions and other legendary disciplines will also return:

The Blanca Fernández Ochoa Memorial, the magical E-tron Night with Audi, the Salomon Quest Challenge coinciding with World Snow Day, the Movistar SBX Phase 1, the 43rd edition of the Marxa Beret, Amics de Montgarri Audi 4 CUP, BBB Ski & Snowboard Race Experience, Jesús Serra Foundation Trophy, TOP CAEI as the U21-18 Spanish Championship, SBX Spanish Championships and the RFEDI FIS Absolutes, are just some of the events that are already scheduled for this 2022-2023 season.

With all these novelties ready, the resort is preparing to open its doors another year on November 26, depending on the snow conditions.
