Just a month ago the Government of Aragon reported on the technical study phase of the extension of the Cerler ski resort by Castanesa with a chairlift. Now, the Aramón snow group has announced that work will begin this summer .
Likewise, the newspaper El Heraldo de Aragón has shared information on the meeting of shareholders with the Board of Owners of the Montes de Castanesa land, which reported on the schedule of works. This project will provide the valley with a new tourist attraction compatible with livestock, thanks to this, new possibilities for the future and population fixation are opened.

The extension would increase the ski area of Cerler to more than 100 km. Four parts are planned: the improvement of the Benasque-Cerler Molino and Cerler Molino-Ampriu road; the extension of the Ampriu car park and services area; the excitement of the upper part of the blue Basibé track and a new red variant of this same blue and the connection of the Castanesa and Ardonés peak with a new 6-seater detachable chairlift .
All these works will begin after the conditioning of roads and infrastructures so that in the summer of 2020 the first chairlift that connects the Cerler ski resort with the Castanesa Valley is placed. The extension extends the current 77 km to more than 100 ; In addition to having two accesses for the winter complex: one in Benasque and another in Castanesa.
