The investment plan for the next Ordino-Arcalís ski season amounted to around 887,000 euros. But the decision to rehabilitate the restaurant in La Coma, which was seriously affected by a snow avalanche last January, requires a significant increase in spending.
According to the newspaper Altaveu Digital of Andorra, only the works of this restaurant take 1.2 million euros. And it was precisely the kitchen, one of the most expensive areas of this type of establishment, which was worst affected. Much of its machinery must be renewed, architectural elements rebuilt, and another 200,000 euros included in building infrastructure to protect the building from another possible snow avalanche.
Another 1.3 million euros go to the reorganization of the Planells area. According to the Master Plan to which altaveu.com/ has had access, there is to be created a new area for beginners, and among other elements, to install a ski lift, which will cost only 300,000 euros. Taking advantage of the works, other actions will be carried out to give more quality to the customer, and improvements in the nursery.
The negative part of all this new Master Plan is that the lift that was planned for Les Basses seems to be discarded. It was going to be assembled by 2030, but now it is questioned whether it is really ideal due to the amount of snow or customers in that area.
