The station opened on December 2 thanks to some light snowfall and artificial snow and the Puente de la Purísima and Christmas were festive dates with lower influx levels than last season.
The main reason was the lack of new snowfall and the general mild temperature throughout the Eastern Pyrenees, which did not favor the ski environment.
The trend changed from January and February, with the first significant snowfalls and normal temperatures for the time.
With the change of the year, Masella recovered his pulse. The excellent snow conditions, on the one hand, and the fact that January and February are equivalent to the months of July and August in beach destinations, on the other, made the levels of influx of skiers record.
These ideal conditions on the slopes were maintained until the beginning of March, a month marked once again by the lack of snowfall and an April that has also been dry from snow conditions.
Although the weather conditions this early spring were not the best, the influx of skiers has also been good thanks, in part, to the school groups and those who have stayed in the hotel establishments directly on the slopes during March and April.
For yet another year, the Night Ski experience was very well received, thanks to the generally good weather and above all because it continues to be a highly differentiated and original offer.
The snow produced by Masella has been key to offering a good season. In fact, without this strategic investment that the station has been making in recent years, the season would have been limited to the strictly winter months.
The network of snow produced, the daily work of the snow groomers and the natural environment (the forest, the North orientation and the altitude of the domain) have allowed the station to open 100% of the skiable slope from the first to the last day of the Bell.
This year, Masella has consolidated the access system to the ski lifts with the digital pass and skiing continues to be promoted in the territory. Through the Bosch Aymerich Foundation , all the white weeks for the students of all the schools in La Cerdanya have been subsidized.
This year; A total of 1,800 infant, primary and secondary children and young people from the 9 schools in the region have skied in Masella.
