The Les 2 Alpes ski resort has 5 years and 500 million euros to become the leading French ski resort in Europe. The projects facing the resort consist of the construction of new ski lifts (cable cars , chairlifts and ski lifts), the expansion of the snow network , the growth of the ski area and an urban plan with more tourist accommodation .

New mechanical lifts

This new season there will be a new chairlift of 8 seats in the sector of La Toura (2,600 m) that will replace the 2 current chairlifts ( Toura and Lac Noir ); Thanks to this new chairlift, the number of skiers per hour will be increased. By 2019, new chairlifts will be built in the sectors of Les Crêtes, Le Thuit, Le Super Venosc and Pierre Grosse.

Expansion in the artificial snow network

The company Deux Alpes Loisirs will continue its work between the spring of 2019 and 2021 to preserve the mantle of artificial snow with the construction of a new reservoir (La Mura) and the artificial network extension between Les Crêtes and Le Grand Nord . The main objective is to guarantee a coverage of 30% of the surface of the ski area in artificial snow.

Cable car and link to the Alpe d'Huez resort

Another of the novelties that will be carried out between 2019 and 2020 is the construction of a new gondola lift that will replace the Jandri Express ; the transport capacity will be three times higher than 4,000 people per hour compared to 1,200 today!

More tourist accommodations

Apart from the improvements in the resort itself, the Les 2 Alpes expansion plan also contemplates the real estate development, 3,500 additional beds will be created during the next 3 years .

The nearest opening is a modern hostel with 364 beds The People Hostel , which plans to open for December 15. This hostel will have 45 private rooms, as well as 41 shared rooms, each with 4, 6 or 8 beds. In addition, it will have a restaurant and a bar open to the public along with a rest room and a nice terrace.

La Résidence (Croix des Limites) and the old hotel of Les Alpinistes, which is becoming a new ODALYS residence, will also be renovated. Likewise, new luxury villas will be built, a new tourist residences called SAFILAF Néméa and Le Chalet du Soleil Residence . Finally the jewel in the crown will be Les Glaciers , one of the first buildings of Les 2 Alpes, which will become a multiple residence.
