Esquiades SnowFun, the first experiential snow fair, will become the centre of mountain tourism on 11th and 12th November in Reus, Tarragona. The event, focused primarily on customer experience, will be "a dynamic and interactive space, attractive both for skiers and those who have never put on a pair of skis," says the Esquiades.co.uk CEO, Rafa Fuertes.
Esquiades SnowFun will congregate the main companies, media and institutions related to skiing and snowboarding: ski resorts, travel agencies, tour operators, accommodation, mountain destinations, ski equipment distributors and specialised press of the sector.
Experiential in every way
The fair will be divided into 5 spaces that will guide the visitor through different experiences with a common denominator: the world of skiing. Thus, Esquiades SnowFun will bring together technology, cooking and mountain activities. It will also have a 1,500m2 exhibition space, as well as an area to enjoy movies and talks.
One of the main lures of the fair will be technology, always linked to snow and skiing. In the SnowTech space you can enjoy the most advanced ski simulator of the moment, which will come directly from Germany for its first appearance in the peninsula. On the other hand, Sony Center Reus will bring with them a snow video game area as a central theme, as well as virtual reality glasses.
Inside the leisure SnowActivities area, the fair will have activities related to mountain and skiing: mushing sledges, by Grandvalira, or interactive workshops about how to repair and care skiing and snowboarding equipment, courtesy of Pic Negre. You can also see the interior of the peculiar Hotel Iglú in Grandvalira, and even take a few races on the karting circuit that Vallnord will bring. The Caldea spa centre will offer free massages to the visitors.
"A good mountain experience goes hand in hand with gastronomy," Fuertes adds. That is why the Esquiades.co.uk stand will have the SnowCook space, where you can taste mountain cuisine. In addition, the fair will also feature the classic foodtrucks, but with a touch of mountain products.
Start of the ski season
The most classic space will be SnowExpo, where the main ski resorts of the peninsula will announce the news for the next skiing season. Among those confirmed are Grandvalira, Vallnord, Baqueira Beret, Boí Taüll, Port Ainé, Espot Ski, La Molina, Formigal, Cerler and Panticosa, among others. To these we have to add Sierra Nevada from Andalucia and Font Romeu from France.
On the other hand, there will also be the SnowTalks area where well known monologuists will perform, workshops and talks from ski resort experts to share their knowledge with the visitors. There will also be a selection of skiing films, organised by Nevasport, and directed by the well-known producer and writer Víctor Riverola.
