Before we start we explain what is snowfarming : it is about accumulating a lot of snow at the end of the season to help in the new season. This snow accumulates in mountains or deposits at different points of the season and is covered with straw or sawdust. With this technique during the summer only 25% of harvested snow is lost, amazing!
This technique has been carried out in the Candanchú ski resort , they built an 8 meter high reservoir and 12,000 m3 of snow are still there, as you can see the image that you have then this "mountain" has waned a bit. The idea is to keep at least 50% of snow accumulated until the new season.
