Arcalís, November 14, 2019. The Ordino Arcalís resort confirms the opening of a part of its ski area for this Saturday, November 16. The last snowfall on Wednesday night has left up to 20 cm of new snow, which thanks to the absence of wind has added to the existing thickness. This has allowed to work the snow for conditions up to 10 tracks. Initially, the ski area will be concentrated in the Coma, although work is being done to expand the surface.
The Principality of Andorra opens the ski season this weekend, thanks to the opening this Saturday of the Ordino Arcalís resort, as planned. This date was set since the end of last season, and following the trend of recent years. The big difference is that this year the Coma area can be opened independently thanks to the arrival of the Tristaina cable car to this area. It is expected that the season that begins this Saturday will last for 170 more days, becoming one of the longest in recent years. Skiers who go up to Arcalís this weekend will be able to ski with the season's own ski pass, with Grandvalira, with Valls del Nord and with Ski Andorra. They can also do it with day passes, as usual.

Tracks, ski lifts and skiable surface
The field team has worked to keep the slopes of the Coma area in very good condition. The open green tracks will be Els Orris, La Basera, El Pont and partially the Megaverda; the blue ones La Bassa, els Terragalls, the Coma; and the red La Balma, l'Hortell, the Portella del Mig (partially). As for the ski lifts, the Tristaina Telecabina will be the main protagonist, since it will distribute the skiers to the Coma, where you can access the slopes through TSD6 the Coma and the Orris and Pla de la Coma ski lifts. The thicknesses range from 20 to 40 cm in the highest areas and continue to snow heavily.
As for the services, the restaurants of l'Hortell, Portelles, La Coma, the rental shop for equipment, and the ski school will be operational.
Weather forecast
The forecast is that the snowfall will continue during this Thursday, and for the weekend it is expected sun, without wind, which predicts that it will be a weekend of season premiere with more than unbeatable conditions.
