Here is a summary of the coverages that the Ski Travel and Assistance Insurance Policy Assistance includes. However, at the end of this page you will find the all the coverages of the Insurance Policy, which includes both the General Conditions and Special Insurance.
Insurance coverages:
1.- MEDICAL AND HEALTH CARE
ARAG shall cover the expenses associated with the intervention of professionals and health facilities required for the insured's care, being sick or injured.
The following services are included:
a) Attention of emergency doctors and specialists care.
b) Complementary medical examinations.
c) Hospitalisations, treatments and surgeries.
d) Medicine supply during the hospitalisation, or a refund of the cost of the injuries or diseases that do not require hospitalisation.
e) Treatment of acute dental problems as an exclusive result of trauma, requiring urgent treatment.
ARAG takes charge of the expenditures on these outputs, up to a limit of 3,005.06€ per insured person or the equivalent in the local currency when they take place abroad, 3,000€ when they take place in the Principality of Andorra, or 1,000€ in Spain.
Dental costs are limited, in any case, to 60.10€ or the equivalent in local currency.
The obligations of the Insurance company finish when the person who has been covered returns to their usual residence, or has been admitted in a health centre located, at a maximum of 25 km from the residence address (15 km in Balearic Islands and Canary Islands).
2.- SLEDGE OR AMBULANCE EXPENSES
If as a result of an accident of the insured at the ski slopes he/she incurs expenses like a rescue sledge or an ambulance transport within the ski resort (not off-slopes), ARAG will take care of them.
3.- REPATRIATION OR TRANSPORT OF INJURED OR SICK
In case of accident or illness to occur to the person insured, ARAG will cover:
a) The cost of the ambulance transportation to the nearest clinic or hospital.
b) Examination by the corresponding medical team. Contact with the doctor treating the wounded or sick insured to determine the appropriate measures and the more suitable treatment options, as well as the best mean to his/her transfer to a more appropriate hospital (if needed) or to his/her home.
c) The cost of transporting the injured or sick, by the most appropriate means of transport, to the prescribed hospital or his/her home.
The means of transport used in each case will be decided by the ARAG medical team depending on the urgency and seriousness of the case. In Europe and countries bordering the Mediterranean, a specially equipped air ambulance might be used.
If the insured is admitted to a hospital not near his home, ARAG shall pay, at the time, the subsequent transfer to his/her home.
In the event that the Insured is not an habitual Spain resident, he/she shall be repatriated to the place of the trip departure in Spain.
4.- TRANSPORT OF A RELIATIVE IN THE EVENT OF HOSPITALISATION
If the condition of the sick or injured insured requires hospitalisation for a period that exceeds five days, ARAG will provide a relative of the insured, or a person selected by the insured, a plane or train round trip ticket, in order to accompany him/her.
If the hospitalisation occurs abroad, ARAG will cover, regarding stay expenditures only if they receive the correct invoices, up to 72€ per day, and for a maximum period of 10 days.
5.- CONVALESCENSE IN THE HOTEL
If the sick or injured insured is not able not return home due to medical prescription, ARAG will cover the hotel expenses caused by the extension of the stay, up to 72€ per day and for a maximum period of 10 days.
6.- REPATRIATION OR TRANSPORTATION OF THE DECEASED INSURED.
In case of death of an insured, ARAG will organise the transportation of the body to the place of burial in Spain and will take care of the expenses of such transportation. Expenses shall include postmortem conditioning, according to legal requirements.
This service shall not include burial nor ceremony costs.
In the event that the insured is not habitually resident in Spain, he/she shall be repatriated to the place of the trip depart in Spain.
7.- EARLY RETURN
If any of the people insureds have to interrupt their trip due to the death of their husband/wife, degree first ancestor or descendant, or brother, ARAG will pay for the transportation, round trips, by plane or train, from the place where he/she is to the place where the burial takes place in Spain.
The Insured may also opt for two airline or train tickets, to his usual residence.
8.- REFUND OF SKI PASSES THAT HAVE NOT BEEN USED
If while skiing the Insured suffers injuries entailing repatriation, transfer, or the use of the early return, ARAG will refund him/her the amount of the ski pass that could not be used up to a maximum of 180.30€.
9.- REFUND OF THE COST OF SKI LESSONS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN USED
If while skiing the Insured suffers injuries entailing repatriation, transferal or the use of curtailment, ARAG will refund the insured the amount of ski lessons that could not be used up to a maximum of 180.30€.
10.- EMERGENCY MESSAGES
ARAG will transmit urgent messages issued by the insured as a result of claims covered by these warranties.
11.- CRIMINAL LIABILITY DEFENSE ABROAD
ARAG guarantees the defense of the Insured criminal liability, in proceedings in the presence of foreign courts in the area of his/her private life and due to the travel or the transferal carried out by the insurance.
This insurance does not cover any incident caused voluntarily by the insured or those where willful misconduct or gross negligence are proved and stated in a final court judgment.
The maximum coverage for expenditures and bonds is 3,005.06€.
12.- LEGAL INFORMATION ABROAD
In the event that the insured had a legal problem with another person, related to an accident in his private life, ARAG will get you in touch with a lawyer, if there are any in the town, to arrange an interview with the insured, and in charge of the latter.
This service is provided only in countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Spain, except in cases of force majeure or in the case of an event beyond the control of the Insurer. The Insurer shall not be liable for the results obtained during the legal consultation.
13.- DAMAGE CLAIM ABROAD
ARAG guarantees the claim for damages that the Insured may suffer abroad as a pedestrian, driver of not motorised land vehicles, occupant of vehicles and boats of particular use, and passenger of any means of transport.
This warranty does not include damage claim arising out of a breach of a specific contract between the insured and the responsible for it.
In case of death of the insured, the claim may be issed by their relatives, heirs or beneficiaries.
The maximum expenditure coverage is 3,005.06€.
14.- PURCHASE CONTRACT CLAIM ABROAD
ARAG guarantees the claim for breach of sales contract abroad related to property, in which the insured is a party.
For the purposes of this warranty, it is considered to be exclusively movable assets only decorative objects, household appliances, food and personal outfit, as long as they belong to the Insured and for his/her personal use.
Excluded from coverage: antiques, stamp or numismatic collections, jewelry or art pieces do not exceeding 3,005.06€.
The maximum expenditure coverage is 3,005.06€.
15. CLAIM SERVICE CONTRACTS ABROAD
ARAG guarantees claims for non-compliance with the following contracts for the provision of services contracted personally and directly by the Insured Person abroad with foreign companies and whose execution also takes place abroad:
- Medical and hospital services.
- Services Travel, tourism and hospitality.
- Cleaning, laundry and dry cleaning.
- Official appliance repair services expressly authorized by the manufacturer.
Only service contracts affecting the private life of the Insured and it holds and final recipient are covered.
The maximum coverage of the expenses is 3,005.06€.
