Sierra Nevada opens its summer campaign on July 18 and begins its improvements for the ski

The Sierra Nevada ski and mountain resort will open its summer facilities on Saturday, July 18, along with an extensive nature and astronomy program that will last until September 6 , although they are already developing their activity in the great mountain of Granada. a good number of catering, accommodation and active tourism and nature companies.

With the slogan of "Pure Mountain" , the resort will launch two lifts (Borreguiles gondola lift and Veleta chairlift), the Mirlo Blanco children's complex (Russian sled, tubbing, trampolines, children's zip line ...), the Club Montebajo heated pool or the bike park circuits.

Cetursa Sierra Nevada will implement the sanitary measures applied in each phase of the de-escalation due to the COVID-19 pandemic in all its facilities and summer activities, and will install informative posters on the safe use of each of them.

The snow melting trails can be enjoyed freely, with access by ski lifts or with guided routes. The most popular astronomy activities "Dawn in the Weather Vane" and "Sunset in the Weather Vane" will take place in small groups with prior reservation and specific date (weekends).

The coronavirus pandemic, which has reduced the summer sports program and reduced the supply of summer camps, does not for the moment prevent the program of free cultural events.

Thus, the celebration of the last concert of the FEX (parallel program of the Granada Music and Dance Festival) is scheduled for July 25 with the performance of Apache. The resort has set for the 28th and 29th of August the celebration of the XI Sierra Nevada rock festival for All High , although its development -such as the Apache concert- is at the expense of what the health authority establishes for this type of events.

In parallel, the resort will carry out maintenance and improvement actions at the winter facilities for the 2020/21 ski season during the summer.
