Winter has finally arrived at the Pallars Sobirà region. The heavy snow on Wednesday 23, especially in the early morning, and Thursday 24, especially abundant until noon at the north end of the western Pyrenees, have so far translated into 60 cm of new snow at the 2000 elevation between the two days of snowfall in Espot and Port Ainé . The low temperatures combined with the generous rainfall and the intense work of the track technicians will allow to open this weekend, if the conditions accompany, 100% of Espot and Port Ainé.
On Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 visitors will find thicknesses of 70 to 120 cm of powder snow at high levels in both seasons. In Espot you will enjoy its 22 tracks (2 green, 10 blue, 6 red and 4 black) and in Port Ainé of its 25 tracks (6 green, 4 blue, 11 red and 4 black). In addition, the ski lifts will work 100%. The opening hours will be from 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
The snowfall has also made an appearance at the Tavascan resort, located in the Pallars Sobirà, where snowfalls have been very abundant. Work is being done on conditioning access and tracks and safety for the large amount of snowfall. The forecast for the opening of the ski alpine domain for the first time this season and the background is Saturday 26 .
With the snowfall of this week, the high season begins, which is expected in the best possible conditions. There are still 3 months with the resorts at full capacity, with a large number of events and activities ahead.
Throughout the winter, in addition, visitors will live a unique experience squeezing the charms that surround both resorts of FGC: Espot is next to a National Park, that of Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici, and Port Ainé is located in the municipality of Rialp and Soriguera, in the Orri massif, and is surrounded by the Alt Pirineu Natural Park.
