The ski resort of Boí Taüll , the highest in the Pyrenees, has closed the ski season 2017/2018. And thanks to the last snowfall, skiers who have visited this resort last weekend have enjoyed great thicknesses of snow , which in some areas of the resort exceed 300 cm.
During the last week, the abundance of snow and bad weather has forced visitors to use the chains to reach the complex. And although the resort was covered in layers and layers of snow, it has not been possible to extend the season and has been completed with the sale of 131,026 ski passes (8% less than last year). However, the hotel occupancy of Pla de l'Ermita has obtained 24,001 rooms sold .
The skiers of this season continue being in greater affluence the Catalans, representing a 60% of the total of the national ones. The community of Madrid represents 20% and that of Valencia 15%. The remaining percentage of skiers comes from northern Spain and other areas. French and Portuguese customers have also approached Boí Taüll.
Finally, it is worth highlighting the success of the new bus service (Freeride Bus) that has covered the Vall de Moró and Ginebrell, going back to the paddlers and snowboarders towards the base of the resort.
