BASIC Ski & Travel Insurance for Esquiades.com Customers

This exclusive Esquiades.com insurance covers your entire ski holiday, from the moment you leave your home until your return. This includes all travel dates in your booking and the days for which you have booked a ski pass.

Insurance Coverages:

1. Medical and Health Care

ARAG will cover expenses for the intervention of health professionals and facilities required for the care of the insured in case of sickness or injury. This includes:

Emergency medical attention and specialist care.
Complementary medical examinations.
Hospitalization, treatments, and surgeries.
Medicines during hospitalization or reimbursement for costs of injuries or diseases not requiring hospitalization.
Treatment of acute dental problems due to trauma requiring urgent care.

Coverage limits:

Up to 3,000 € per person abroad or equivalent local currency.
Dental costs are limited to 100 €

Coverage ends when the insured returns to their residence or is admitted to a health centre within 25 km (15 km in the Balearic and Canary Islands) from their residence.

2. Return Home or Transport for Injured or Sick Person

In case of accident or illness, ARAG will cover:

Ambulance transport to the nearest clinic or hospital.
Medical team examination and coordination with the treating doctor to determine the best treatment and transport options.
Transport to the prescribed hospital or home by the most appropriate means, which may include an air ambulance in Europe and Mediterranean bordering countries.

If the insured is hospitalized away from home, ARAG will cover subsequent transport to their home. For non-Spain residents, repatriation will be to the departure point in Spain.

3. Recovery Stay at a Hotel

If the insured cannot return home due to medical advice, ARAG will cover hotel expenses up to 84 € per day for a maximum of 10 days.

4. Return or Transport of Deceased Person

In the event of the death of an Insured, ARAG will organise the transportation of the body to the place of burial in Spain and will cover the expenses. These expenses shall be considered to include those of post-mortem conditioning, in accordance with the legal requirements.

Burial and ceremony expenses shall not be included.

In the event that the Insured should not have their usual place of residence in Spain, they shall be repatriated to the place where the journey began in Spain.

5. Early Return Due to the Death of a Family Member

If any of the Insured should have to interrupt their trip due to the death of their spouse, ascendant or descendant in the first degree, or sibling, ARAG shall pay for the return transport, by plane or train, from the place where they are to the place of burial in Spain.

Alternatively, at their choice, the Insured may opt for two airline tickets (economy class) or train tickets (1st class) to their usual place of residence.

6. Early Return Due to the Hospitalization of a Relative

In the event that one of the Insured parties should interrupt their trip due to the hospitalization of their spouse, ascendant or descendant in first degree, or sibling, as a consequence of an accident or serious illness that requires hospitalization for a minimum period of 5 days, and this has occurred after the starting date of the trip, ARAG will pay for the transport to the place where they have their usual place of residence in Spain.

7. Search, Location and Dispatch of Lost Packages

In the event of the loss of luggage on a scheduled flight, ARAG shall use all the means at its disposal to locate it, inform the Insured of any new developments in this respect and, where appropriate, deliver it to the hands of the beneficiary free of charge.

8. Emergency Communications

ARAG will transmit urgent messages related to claims covered by this insurance.

9. Sledge or Ambulance Expenses

ARAG will pay for the costs of being rescued by sled or transported by ambulance within the confines of the ski resort following an accident that occurs on the ski slopes.

10. Search and Rescue of the Insured Person

In the event of loss or disappearance of the person insured within the confines of a ski resort, ARAG will pay the sums claimed from him during the search carried out by the local authority or public or private rescue services, up to a maximum of 300 €.

In all cases, the first 120 € will be paid by the person insured.

Events deliberately caused by the person insured according to a final court ruling are excluded.

The maximum amount of expenses and guarantees for this cover is 3000 €.

11. Criminal Defense Coverage Abroad

ARAG provides coverage for the Insured's criminal defense in foreign courts for incidents occurring in their personal life during the insured trip. Coverage excludes events intentionally caused by the Insured or those involving malice or gross negligence, as determined by a final court judgment.

The maximum coverage for expenses and bail under this guarantee is 3000 €.

12. Legal Assistance Abroad

If the Insured encounters a legal issue with third parties related to a personal accident, ARAG will connect them with a local lawyer, if available, for a consultation at the Insured's expense.

This service is available only in countries with diplomatic relations with Spain, except in cases of force majeure or events beyond the Insurer's control. The Insurer is not responsible for the outcome of the legal consultation.
