The ski season of Neiges Catalanes closes

Couldn't even get to Easter . The devastating drought that is taking place this year has left snow levels lower than usual. It is impossible to continue conditioning the slopes, although the serious problem is the water reserves for autumn. Now the thaw allows you to fill the reservoirs that are completely empty, but it will not be at an optimal level either.

We are seeing the consequences in the water restrictions that are already being applied to some ski areas such as agriculture or the care of public parks and gardens. In the mountains, the effect is also noticeable, especially in those populations that live from tourism, since the ski resorts are rapidly advancing the closure.

This is the case of Les Angles and Porté-Puymorens , who have announced today that they will lower the blinds on Sunday and will not start the ski lifts until the summer. Thus they join Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 , Formiguères , Cambre D'Aze and Puigmal 2900 , who also did the same a few days ago.

In any case, the season has gone well in general terms.. Although the snow was late, it was able to open at Christmas with a limited offer and then the five weeks of school holidays have worked perfectly. There was snow, good conditions and the weather has accompanied. While waiting for a definitive balance, some ski resorts anticipated that similar numbers to last season are expected, which went very well, although some even dare to predict that they will be better.
