The International Cycling Union has confirmed that Massana will be hosting the World Cup mountain bike. Massana Vallnord Bike Park will host two events: downhill and cross-country, on 14 and 15 July 2018. The sporting event will involve the eighth round of the Cup schedule, which begins on March 7 in Stellenbosch ( RSA) and end in La Bresse (France) on 26 August.

It will be the sixth time the ski resort of Vallnord organizes an event of this level. Star season, however, was in 2015 when the UCI gave the Andorran domain the privilege of hosting the Mountain Bike World Championships and trial, in addition to holding the World Cup in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Before the 2018 sporting calendar, note that this year there will be double event. On the one hand, the World Masters from 19 to 24 June, and will be held two rounds of the World Cup (DHI and XCO) from 26 June to 2 July. Also, on 9 March will take place the official presentation of the two competitions, in the Teatre de les Fontetes of Massana.

Tests Vallnord Arinsal Pal became the most media in 2016. According to data provided by the UCI, more than 9 million viewers on television Andorran competitions, above the 8.7 million recorded in Lenzerheide.
