107,000 spectators and 97% occupancy. These are the figures that have obtained the last show of Cirque du Soleil in Andorra, ' Scalada Stelar ' . The Canadian company has performed a total of 22 functions in the Principality, all during the month of July and surpassing last year's public figures, 105,059 people.
These data coincide with those that the circus has been accumulating since acting in Andorra. All shows in the series 'Scalada', which began in 2013, have exceeded 90% occupancy. As a result, hotel capacity has also increased since Cirque du Soleil operates in the country: while the first year the occupation was around 43%, currently stands at approximately 77%.
With so much success, Andorra's Tourism and Trade Minister Francesc Camp has said that "it is being negotiated" for Cirque du Soleil to step again Andorra over the next two years. Thus, Camp has been optimistic and has indicated that it is very likely that an agreement will be reached.
However, according to the minister pointed out, the idea that is being put on the table aims to promote a radical change of format . "The relationship with Andorra will no longer be present in the show, and will be something that has never been done in Europe." The closure of the agreement, according to Camps, will be announced at the latest in the fall.
