More than 3,500 people laid off season Sierra Nevada

Sierra Nevada has closed the 2015/16 winter season today with a day of skiing that has been attended by more than 3,500 skiers and in which, after the closing of ski lifts, resort workers and customers have joined around a popular paella from the Plaza de Andalucía

The season farewell day has been bright and with a good temperature, with an offer of snow that has exceeded 20 kilometers of tracks and almost all the ski slope of the resort, the 1,100 meters that separate the summit of Veleta from the urbanization of Pradollano

The CEO of Cetursa Sierra Nevada, María José López, attacked the effort to:

“Workers and entrepreneurs for their commitment and dedication in a particularly difficult season, especially the first part, as a result of the absence of rainfall and improper winter temperatures. Practically, until mid-February, the situation did not normalize. You could say that Sierra Nevada has had a very good half season. ”

For the rest, the resort is already preparing for the summer campaign with the opening forecast on June 25. Ski lifts, trails, bike park circuits, mountain racing tours, hotels, restaurants, camps and calendar of sporting and cultural events.
