Grandvalira faces the final stretch of the best snow season in the 21st century

The 2012-2013 season is being beaten: these conditions not seen since 1996 and the only one who had approached them was that of 2004-2005. From November until now, Grandvalira has accumulated 7.32 m of snow. This figure is only surpassed by the 7.50 m that accumulated during 1996.

But not only must take into account this factor. One of the main reasons that has guaranteed powder snow season has been the regularity of snow, constant throughout the winter. If we consider the figures of snow for months, we can see how it has snowed 63 days between November and March. These data were collected by technicians Grandvalira, in this case, by the team in its daily pisters.

The season showed signs early on. Already in November accumulated 40 inches of snow with rain just before the Purisima. This ensured an exceptional start to the season and to offer skiers a ski on favorable terms from day one.

No snow cannon from January 20
Another significant fact which highlights the extent of the snowfall is making snow cannon.
The network stopped snowmaking on 20 January and since then there has been no need to operate the guns. In snow culture volumes, production was nearly 35 percent lower than in the 2011-2012 season. This, for all practical purposes, means that not only has there been more snow this year, but the fact that it is naturally superior quality makes.
