Baqueira Beret plans to open a large part of the ski area at the weekend

The northern front that has affected the entire peninsula has left Baqueira Beret more than a meter of snow at high levels of dust quality. The copious snowfall with temperatures that have dropped below -15ºC and the incessant work of the track preparation teams throughout the week can allow the opening of most of the resort's paths, if the weather permits, in order to finally Week of January 26 and 27.

At the moment it is working on several fronts. On the one hand, in the tread of tracks and on the other hand in ensuring the entire perimeter of the paths in relation to avalanches.

As for the available tracks, on the map the area with the most paths in the resort is Beret, which adds up to 49, followed by Baqueira, with 35, and Bonaigua 27. As for ski lifts, Baqueira and Beret have 13 each zone and Bonaigua has 10. Special mention to the slopes of the new Baciver area, a total of 5 reds, which can finally be released with a lot of snow through the ski lift of the same name and to which its base is accessed through the Saumet. In short, the new roof of the resort at 2,610 m would already be open in exceptional conditions.

With regard to roads, cleaning services have been working during the snowfall and access to Baqueira from Vielha has been open with chains and access to Orri and Beret has been gradually enabled, on the one hand, and on Thursday In the morning the road teams were working to open the Port de la Bonaigua for the weekend.
