Coinciding with the celebration of All Saints' Day, Ordino Arcalís closes the summer season to prepare its facilities for winter. During these months, in which the resort has been open for a total of 138 days, more than 80,000 people have been able to enjoy the summer proposal. This figure means an increase of 8.5% in the number of visitors compared to last year, which shows the growing interest of visitors to discover the mountains of Ordino in summer.
Tristaina viewpoint
The Tristaina Solar Viewpoint, inaugurated in 2021, has been one of the most visited spaces and is consolidated as one of the main attractions of the whole Principality. Thus, more than 80,000 people have walked around this circular structure located at an altitude of 2,700 meters that offers panoramic views of the Tristaina glacial cirque, with the three lakes, and the Ordino valley, recognized as a Biosphere Book by UNESCO.
The Creussans chairlift and the Tristaina gondola lift have allowed visitors to easily access the viewpoint, with the novelty of the glass-floored cabins of the Tristaina gondola lift, which allow an absolutely panoramic view during the ascent.
Likewise, Ordino Arcalís has once again become a space for cycling lovers, and as has become customary in recent years, the final stretch of the Coma road has been closed so that cyclists could enjoy the last 4.5 kilometers without road traffic.
One of the novelties of the season, the themed outings with the Grandvalira Mountain Guides, has also been very well received and has allowed hikers to enjoy privileged moments such as the walk at dawn to see the sunrise from the Mirador Solar de Tristaina or the circular route of the Estanyó peak in Sorteny, where the GMGs also share their knowledge and expertise about the environment.
The Ordino Arcalís summer experience was rounded off by the gastronomic proposal of the La Coma Restaurant, which offered its high mountain cuisine and rice dishes, and that of the Sorteny Refuge, with more traditional Andorran dishes, where it was also possible to spend the night.
The viewpoint will remain closed for a few days, since the resort will be active again from December 1 with the opening of the ski slopes, weather permitting.
