Grandvalira closed yesterday the best Holy Week of the last 5 years , with a total of 199,551 days of skiing in the period between March 19 and 18. Compared to last season, the Andorran domain has seen the number of ski days increase by 63,131, which represents 46.27% more than in 2015 . The average number of skiers in these 10 days has been 20,000 per day, 6,000 more than last season.
This good influx has been given, in part, to the sunny weather that has accompanied the visitors during their stay, as well as to the festive calendar of this year that has allowed to celebrate the most advanced Holy Week of the last five years. The days of more activity on the slopes have been Friday 26 and Saturday 27 March.
Regarding the origin of skiers who have decided to spend these days in the largest resort in southern Europe, most come from the proximity markets of Catalonia, Spain, France and Portugal.

A few days later, on April 4-10, Sunset Park Peretol de Grandvalira will host the SLVSH CUP 2016 , an innovative freeski competition that first lands in the Principality with the presence of 16 world-class riders. Highlights include the American Noah Wallace, bronze medal at the FIS Freestyle ski World Championships 2015 ; his compatriot Mcrae Williams, gold medal in the 2013 and 2014 editions of the X-Games and winner of the Total Fight ski 2013 and 2014 ; and the Norwegian Oystein Braaten, winner of the total Fight Ski 2015.
Regarding the Andorran representation, rider Carlitos Aguareles will also compete to get on the podium of this competition. The SLVSH CUP is a freeski competition with a particularity that makes it different and unique since it is played on social networks. Thus, riders hang their duels on the net so that viewers directly rate their performances.
