Grandvalira celebrated on Saturday the action “World Champions in Solidarity” , a day that has allowed people with functional diversity to bring the mountain and the world of competition skiing closer . This is one of the different activities that have been organized as events prior to the celebration of the Andorra 2019 World Cup Finals - which will be held from March 11 to 17 - and that has served to strengthen the most supportive part of the event.
The day, which has been developed in the sector of El Tarter de Grandvalira, has had the participation of people with functional diversity, mostly users of the Nostra Senyora Specialized School of Meritxell (EENSM), who have been able to live in the first person sensations that are skiing on a competition track. In addition, they have also been able to pass the doors of a small slalom path.

The descent has been made with adapted chairs and accompanied by the members of the collective ' Hi arribarem ', who have been responsible for ensuring their safety at all times. Hi arribarem is an Andorran non-profit association whose mission is to make it possible for people with disabilities to enjoy the mountains , both in summer and winter, making available all human and mechanical means to make it possible.
Likewise, it has not been an ordinary skiing, but the participants have been able to enjoy the upper section of the Àliga track , which in a few days, will be the scene of the speed disciplines of the World Cup Finals. Apart from the skiing, people who have participated have also been able to do other activities in the snow such as mushing (dog sledding) or snowmobiling.
The general director of the Organizing Committee of the Andorra 2019 Finals, Conrad Blanch , has commented that this action is part of the program of parallel activities that have been organized both before and during the competition days with the aim of involving the entire Andorran society in the World Cup Finals. The “World Champions in Solidarity” conference has also served to make the event as transversal as possible, showing the world that, apart from making the most competitive part possible, the resort is also a pioneer in other areas such as solidarity or The sustainability. In this last aspect, Blanch has advanced that next March 2 will take place the action " World Champions in sustainability ", coinciding with the World Day of nature.
