Once more, here comes Experts on the Snow - A section that tries to give you the best advice and first-hand information about the most visited ski resorts.
This time, our colleagues Eva and Emma visited Baqueira Beret with their families, one of the most popular resorts in Spain.
As well as being the largest ski area in Spain, its more than 1,110 metres of vertical drop and its 112 slopes, make it a great destination to enjoy a weekend of skiing. By the way, if you're thinking of going skiing with children, this Catalan Pyrenees resort has up to four children's snow parks.
Why you should ski in Baqueira Beret
Some of the most outstanding qualities of the Baqueira Beret ski resort are the good weather and its privileged orientation. Its slopes, like the valley, are directly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, as they face north.
Its extension, with more than 167 skiable kilometres and slopes for all levels, makes it a resort suitable for everyone. It is also made up of three large ski areas: Baqueira, Beret and La Bonaigua, which have a total of 112 ski runs (6 green, 43 blue, 46 red and 17 black), all connected by ski lifts and chairlifts. This means that getting from one sector to another is practically effortless.
