Ski and snowboard enthusiasts have enjoyed a sunny christmas holiday, due to the good weather, with pleasant temperatures and perfect visibility, which has allowed more than 150,000 skiers to take advantage of much of the resort. With a total of 65 slopes open, totalling 90 km of trails, and 32 lifts in operation. In addition, the low night temperatures have allowed the production of snow at high altitudes, thus improving conditions, thanks to the work of the slope professionals.
150,000 skiers enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere on the slopes.
The possibility of skiing from the Pallars area (Peülla) to Beret, has allowed a balanced distribution of skiers avoiding crowds in the facilities. Commercial Director Xavi Ubeira states that it has been an excellent Christmas holiday, thanks to the investments in snow production and the good snowfall at the end of November, which has allowed to keep between 80 and 95 km of slopes open during the whole Christmas period.
The good weather also made it possible to enjoy the open-air terraces of the different catering outlets and après-ski in emblematic places such as the Moët Winter Lounge or the Baqueira Bar 1,500, with live performances by DJs. The youngest visitors who came to the Baqueira SnowCAMP snow park were able to enjoy indoor and outdoor activities in contact with the snow and learning about the environment.
The outdoor terraces were very busy during the Christmas holidays.
The Ski Service and Baqueira Store services were available during the holidays so that visitors could rent, repair and buy high quality equipment. The season has just started, and the expected snowfall in the next few days should improve snow conditions, ensuring good season figures until April 10.
